The consultation is a free, 15-minute phone call where I will gather information about you to ensure that we are the right fit to move forward with treatment. We will briefly discuss your needs, my approach and policies, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
My private pay rate is $120 per 55 minute session. I do not accept insurance at this time. If your health insurance has out-of-network benefits, I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I strongly encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to confirm your benefits, and how to access them.
Sessions are typically 55 minutes. Please keep in mind that arriving late will decrease the amount of time we have to work together.
Most of the treatments I deliver are designed to be short-term, but the exact number of sessions depends on two main factors: the exact treatment protocol being used and how frequently clients complete the prescribed homework exercises. The scientifically-supported treatments I offer typically range from as few as 8 sessions to as many as 35.
The frequency of your sessions will depend on your needs and the type of treatment we are doing together. Typically, we will meet once per week or every other week. Depending on the needs of a specific client and the severity of symptoms, I may suggest meeting more than once per week. Clients may also request follow-up sessions after the conclusion of treatment.
I will spend the first few minutes of your session reviewing the paperwork you completed, policies, and answering any questions you may have. I will then invite you to share your story and describe any current concerns or challenges you may be experiencing. Sometimes clients tell me they don't know where to start or what to say and that's ok! I will ask you questions to help guide you in an effort to better understand your experience. I am conservative in my diagnostic and treatment planning approach, so your second session is often a continuation of getting to know you, your strengths, areas for growth and values. You will likely be asked to complete an assessment to establish a baseline measure of your symptoms. You and I will collaboratively identify specific, measurable treatment goals that are consistent with your values.
Currently, I only offer virtual sessions. I plan to expand my services to offer in-person therapy in Corpus Christi by the summer of 2026.
I proudly serve clients from as young as 13 years old through adulthood and beyond.
The first step is to schedule a brief 15-minute phone call with me. You can get started by emailing me at sarra.mudd@ocdcorpuschristi.com, calling or texting (361) 239-8333, or completing my contact form.
While I hate to charge for cancelations and missed appointments, it is necessary as I do not get compensated for the time I have reserved exclusively for you if you do not provide enough notice for me to offer that time to someone else who needs my help. Clients will be charged 100% of the full session fee for unattended appointments not canceled with at least 24 hour notice.
While the name can sound scary, exposure therapy is a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where therapists and clients team up to find ways to gradually and systematically confront anxiety to help clients feel less anxious, more confident, and more in control of their own lives. All exposures are done collaboratively with a highly individualized plan to help each client successfully reclaim their lives from anxiety.
ACT is an action-oriented approach that helps individuals create full, rich, and meaningful lives without needless suffering. The process of change includes learning to remain flexibly and purposefully in the the present moment, being free to decide what you want your life to be about, and committing yourself to doing the things that will shape your life around your hopes, dreams, and values.
I am happy to provide school or work excuses for the time of your session. I do not provide disability paperwork or emotional support animal paperwork.
If subpoenaed to appear in court on my client's behalf, the client will be charged double my hourly fee for every hour that I am at court for a minimum of two hours. For example, if I must be at court for three hours, the client will be charged $720. This fee will increase if I must travel outside of Corpus Christi.
I do not prescribe medication; however, I work closely with several great psychiatrists in Corpus Christi that I can refer you to. Research indicates that medication combined with therapy yields the best results.
I am credentialed to provide Mental Health Services in Texas only. I unfortunately will not be able to provide services to individuals outside of Texas per board policy.
